Our enduring philosophy is to strive to represent innovative quality products with a sustainable focus to the Australian marketplace through our dedicated teams across both our Architectural and Trade Divisions. Gibbon Group aims to meet the demands of ongoing change with an excellence in service at all levels of business interaction - which is all about relationships.
Business is about relationships and finding synergies. Over the past 100 years, Gibbon Group had to evolve through many iterations and survive very difficult times to get where it is today - quite a different business from its start in 1920. As wholesale distributors in the flooring industry servicing both the architectural community and the flooring installation trade, the one constant has been the importance placed on client, employee and supplier relationships - a factor that we believe has contributed to our longevity over these many years.
TRADE
Today Gibbon Trade is the Division of Gibbon Group servicing SE and Central Queensland and Northern New South Whales with our North Brisbane Trade Depot at Brendale and three Mobile Showrooms to cater for the needs of the flooring installation tradies - where service and mobile flexibility for the client is top priority. Division Manager, Sean Young, and his team - John, Scott, Nathan and Rob - have played a critical role in the building of our relationships with our clients across South East and Central Queensland. Some of our key brands - Mapei, Nexus, Spartan, Crain, Husqvarna, Polivac among many others - provide a one-stop shop for the installers in carpet/resilient installation and floor preparation machinery and tools.
ARCHITECTURAL
Today Gibbon Architectural is the national Division of Gibbon Group that represents the unique goat hair carpet - tretford - in Roll, Tile, Custom Rugs & Plank - and also modulyss Carpet Tile. Both are quality premium brands that reflect European styling, colouring and design. Our Architectural Consultants - Eamon, Natalie and Suzanna - have a constant focus in advising architects, designers, builders, flooring contractors, and of course the very important end-client, the right product solution for their current project - be it corporate offices, institutional precincts, retail groups, multi-level residences or hospitality sectors.
Ainsley Gibbon, Managing Director since the 1990's, has long seen the business as providing a catalyst for positive environmental change, through the products the company represents and through the influence it can exert with their suppliers. For over 20 years she supported initiatives to improve environmental sustainability, with Gibbon Group becoming one of the first flooring companies to be a member of the Green Building Council, as well as one of the first companies to get our flooring products listed on Ecospecifier's website (in the days before third party environmental certifications). She actively kept abreast of the developing environmental discourse over the years to the point where environmental sustainability has become the core philosophy that drives both the Architectural and Trade Division to this day.
